WORK EXPERIENCE

From February 2004 – present

In the area of External Auditing for the Firm Velasco Sarat & Associates, S. C. – Kreston International, as a manager of the Division, I am responsible for the planning, directing of external auditing projects serviced by the firm, reviewing and/or making reports and discussing them with the client.  Including field work and provide accounting services, internal control, taxes, procedures and functions.

From March 2003 to January 2004

Auditor in the Internal Auditing Unit for the Public Health Department and Social Assistance as a Commissions Coordinator of Internal Auditing, with focus in the area of health, hospitals and other entities and dependencies of the Public Health Department and Social Assistance, and also in non-governmental organizations which administer and provide health services,  applying  institutional auditing procedures established by the General Account Controller and in accordance with the legal framework and Norm Manuals and procedures of the Public Health and Social Assistance Department.

From July 1997 to February 2003

In the Public Accountants and Auditors Firm, Morales Guinea and Associates in the area of auditing and taxes, directing the Auditing Department, which included: planning, programming and the coordination of auditing private companies and in non-governmental organizations; fiscal advice, cost studies for businesses and implementation of Standard costs systems in industrial companies.

From September 1993 to June 1997

Fiscal Auditing Supervisor for the Department of Finance in the VAT and Income Tax Department, with the responsibilities of planning and supervision of the auditing in the field, development of adjustments and creation of reports, like Professional III.

From January 1989 to March 1990

In the Tuncho Granados and Associates Firm, I was in charge of special audits and carried out accounting operation and administrative studies of starting companies or established companies, for the purpose to set up internal control systems and managerial reports.

From March 1984 to January 1990

En la empresa Capritex, S. A. en el cargo de Contador general, con las funciones inherentes y la supervisión de ocho personas, encargadas de contabilidad general, contabilidad de costos, cuenta corriente.

In Capritex, Inc., as a General Accountant, I was responsible for the supervision of 8 people in charge of general accounting, cost accounting, and current accounts.

From March 1981 to February 1984

In Alimentos de C.A. Anabelly Inc., as the administrative accountant, I was responsible for implementing monthly accounting closes, system costs, monthly financial reports, obtaining financing, and payment policies.

From December 1979 to February 1981

In the affiliated companies, Productos de Maiz, Inc. and Alimentos del Istmo, Inc., I was the internal auditor for Central America, organizing the Internal Auditing Department, traveling to and reviewing the internal auditing of offices and affiliates in Central America, reviewing all areas and reporting to the central offices for Latin America in the U.S.

From November 1976 to November 1979

In the affiliated companies, Laprofa Laboratories and Adams Products of C.A., I was the Cost Department Manager, in charge of implementing a functional Standard costs system, with is corresponding procedure manual, giving it maintenance, supervision and updates.  This also included the implementation of the monthly production costs, with the discovery of variances in: the use of raw materials, rate and efficiency of direct labor and variances in the manufacturing expenses of the standard costs by production areas, production lines, production orders, and final product.

From June 1971 to October 1976

In Squibb Laboratories, Inc., in the position of Cost Department Manager, I was responsible for determining the monthly standard production costs, by production orders, by product and by lines of business, valued at read and standard cost, which includes the discovery of the variances in: the use of raw materials, rate and efficiency of direct labor and variances in the manufacturing expenses of the standard costs by production areas, production lines, production orders, and final product.  I also trained in Mexico City, in the area of standard costs of production.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITY

In the EFPEM of the Humanities Faculty, in the Economic Accounting career of four years, taking courses in General Accounting, Company Accounting, Cost Accounting and Budgets.  In Summer-school, in the General Accounting of Economic Sciences, I was a student in the Fiscal Education program of the Department of Public Finance and the Technical Training Institute (INTECAP).
